A little 20's decade, never kill nobody!

Updated: Oct 8, 2019

Jazz, illegal Booze, Flappers, and Fashion designers. Welcome to the 1920s! This decade is one of my favorite decades to explore, fashion wise of course. We've all seen classics and remakes that take place in the 1920's such as The Great Gatsby, De-Lovely, and Chicago. The fashion and setting is glorious and sexy. Whats the 20's without a little sex appeal and mystery? There were fabulous designers such as Sonia Delaunay, Paul Poiret, Jean Patou, and Gabrielle Chanel; who created apparel which became trendy and stylish for the 20's. It's always fun to read about fashion history, especially Fashion since History by Valerie Mendes. After reading the chapter and seeing the illustrations of the 20's garments and designers, the way we look at historical styles and styles to our period day have a similar taste and look for how appealing they were to the eye. One secret I learned from the book was that any styles or trend from the past could be twisted and turned to be a piece of our modern day wear. I mean any piece of fashion from history finds a place in time to come back in style in a different decade. The 20's had the class as a evening party dress would have now in our time. Rules were broken which all campus students do on a Thursday night Let's review and do some research of the Jazzy and sophisticated decade ever!
